1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: The required work shall include the principal features listed below. The Contractor shall furnish all necessary management, personnel, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to clean USD 383 Eugene Field Addition and Renovaation, in their entirety, in
accordance with the terms and conditions specified herein. The Contractor shall plan, program, coordinate, estimate, and schedule resources to accomplish all cleaning services as specified.
2. CLEAN COUNTERTOPS:
Task: Damp clean and disinfect all surfaces of countertops using a germicidal detergent. Spots shall be removed with a damp cloth and mild scouring powder. No cleaner containing acids or strong alkalis shall be used.
Standard: Countertops shall be clean, bright, and free of soil, grease, removable stains, and cleaning chemical residue.
3. CLEAN KITCHEN AND KITCHENETTE SINKS:
Task: Clean and disinfect all surfaces of kitchen and kitchenette sinks. Stains shall be removed with a damp cloth and mild scouring powder. No cleaner containing acids or strong alkalis shall be used. Chromium plated faucets, fittings, and hardware shall be polished with a dry cloth after being cleaned.
Do not apply abrasive cleaners to chromium-plated fixtures.
Standard: Kitchen and kitchenette sinks shall be clean, bright, and free of soil, soap film, removable stains, and cleaning chemical residue.
4. CLEAN DRINKING FOUNTAINS:
Task: Remove any litter from fountain basins such as chewing gum, bits of paper, etc. Clean and disinfect drinking fountains. Remove soil, streaks, smudges, scale, etc. from the drinking fountain and cabinet, then disinfect all porcelain and polished metal surfaces including the orifices and drain. Water
shall not be splashed on wall or on floor around fountain. No abrasive cleaners shall be used on chromium-plated fixtures.
Standard: Drinking fountains, surrounding floor, and wall areas shall be clean and free from streaks, stains, spots, smudges, scale, and other obvious removable soil.
Standard: Interior and exterior door and window glass shall be spotlessly clean and free of streaks, smudges, soil deposits, or any areas left unwashed.
5. DUST FURNISHINGS AND STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS:
1.2.1.1 Task: Remove all dust, lint, litter, from the horizontal and vertical surfaces of office partitions, door frames, windowsills, balustrades, handrails, radiators, picture rails, fire extinguishers, etc. Remove all dust, lint, cobwebs, oily film, etc., from the horizontal and vertical surfaces of lights fixtures, grills, pipes, fittings, sprinkler system components, cables, ledges, walls, vents, hallway baseboards, etc. Remove all dust, lint, cobwebs, etc. from walls, ceilings and ceiling tile and grid. Columns and beams
1.2.1.2 Standard: Surfaces requiring dusting shall be clean and have a uniform appearance, free of dust, lint, litter, streaks, smudges, etc.
6. CLEAN DOOR AND WINDOW GLASS, AND MIRRORS:
1.2.9.1 Task: Clean all interior and exterior door and interior window glass on both sides, which includes partitions between offices and hallways, and interior doors. Clean the interior surface of all exterior windows including black glass panels. Clean all mirrors. A glass-cleaning chemical shall be used to remove all smudges, oily film, and other types of soil. Glass-cleaner splash and drip marks shall be removed from all adjacent surfaces.
1.2.9.2 Standard: Interior and exterior door and window glass shall be spotlessly clean and free of streaks, smudges, soil deposits, or any areas left unwashed.
7. CLEAN WALLS, WALL BASE AND TRIM:
1.2.14.1 Task: Clean walls including associated woodwork, wall base and trim. Walls, wall base and trim shall be cleaned to remove any soil, streaks, scuff marks, stickers, tape, etc. No cleaner shall be used that degrades the finish of any wall, woodwork and trim or deteriorates the covering or underlayment of wall base.
1.2.14.2 Standard: Walls and associated woodwork, wall base and trim shall be clean and free of soil, streaks, scuff marks, stickers, tape, etc. and cleaning chemical residue. Wood doors shall be uniform in appearance, both sides. Recently painted surfaces shall require no cleaning.
8. CLEAN DOORS, BOTH SIDES:
1.2.15.1 Task: Clean both sides of doors. Doors shall be cleaned to remove any soil, streaks, scuff marks, stickers, tape, etc. No cleaner shall be used that degrades the finish of any door surface.
1.2.15.2 Standard: Doors, both sides, shall be clean and free of soil, streaks, scuff marks, stickers, tape, etc. and cleaning chemical residue. Doors shall be uniform in appearance, both sides. Recently painted or refinished surfaces shall require no cleaning.
9. CLEAN TOILETS AND SEATS:
1.2.21.1 Task: Clean and disinfect toilet bowls, inside and outside; toilet seats, both top and bottom; and adjacent toilet partitions and wall. Remove any dirt, writing, lipstick, splash marks, and any other marks from toilet partitions and wall surfaces. Polish chromium plated flush valves, pipes, fittings, and hardware with a dry cloth after being cleaned. No abrasive cleaners shall be used on chromium-plated fixtures. No cleaner containing acids or strong alkalis shall be used.
1.2.21.2 Standard: Toilets, adjacent toilet partitions, and wall surfaces shall be clean, bright, and free of soil, stains, and cleaning chemical residue. All bright metal such as flush valves, pipes, fittings, and hardware shall be clean and bright.
10. CLEAN URINALS:
1.2.22.1 Task: Clean and disinfect urinals, adjacent toilet partitions, and wall surfaces in same manner as toilets. Where screens over urinal traps are removable, they shall be removed and cleaned. Remove all encrustations. Chromium-plated flush valves, pipes, fittings, and hardware shall be polished with a dry cloth after being cleaned. No abrasive cleaners shall be used on chromium-plated fixtures.
1.2.22.2 Standard: Urinals, adjacent toilet partitions, and wall surfaces shall be clean and bright and free of soil, stains, and scouring powder residue. All bright metal such as flush valves, pipes, fittings, and hardware shall be clean and bright.
11. CLEAN SHOWER STALLS AND/OR BATHTUBS:
1.2.23.1 Task: Clean and disinfect all surfaces of showers, bathtubs, and shower stall and bathtub doors. The Contractor shall remove any dirt, writing, lipstick, splash marks, and any other marks from shower stall and bathtub walls. Chromium plated shower and diverter valves, pipes, fittings, and
hardware shall be polished with a dry cloth after being cleaned. No abrasive cleaners shall be used on chromium-plated fixtures.
1.2.23.2 Standard: Shower stalls and/or bathtubs shall be clean, bright, and free of soil, soap film, removable stains, and scouring powder residue. There shall be no film left by cleaning operations on any surfaces in the shower stall or bathtub. All bright metal such as shower and diverter valves, pipes, fittings, and hardware shall be clean and bright.
12. VACUUM CARPETS:
1.2.2.1 Task: Vacuum all carpeted floor areas. Prior to vacuuming, carpeted areas shall be policed to remove all surface litter such as paper, gum, and other large debris that can’t be picked up by a vacuum or damage the vacuuming equipment. Movable fixtures, furniture, and equipment shall be moved, the
area vacuumed, and moved items replaced in their original locations. Vacuum cleaner beater bars shall be adjusted to correspond with the pile height of the carpet.
1.2.2.2 Standard: All carpeted floor areas shall be clean and free of all visible soil and litter.
13. SWEEP AND/OR DUST MOP FLOORS AND STAIRWAYS:
Task: Sweep all non-carpeted tiled and painted concrete floor surfaces, including areas under furniture and equipment. The entire area to be swept shall be thoroughly cleaned to remove dust, dry soil, and other litter. Carpet type entrance mats shall be vacuumed to remove soil and grit and to restore the resiliency of the carpet pile. Rubber or polyester entrance mats shall be swept, vacuumed or hosed down to remove soil and grit. Entrance mats shall be lifted to remove soil and moisture underneath and then returned to their original locations. Machine scrub concrete floors.
Standard: Floor surfaces shall be swept clean, including corners and abutments, and free of dust streaks, litter, and spots caused by spills. No soil shall be detected on a clean white cloth when the cloth is pulled across the floor surface. Entrance mats shall be clean and free of all visible soil and litter.
Standard: Surfaces requiring dusting shall be clean and have a uniform appearance, free of dust, lint, litter, streaks, smudges etc.
1.2.5 MOP FLOORS AND STAIRWAYS)
1.2.5.1 Task: Mop all non-carpeted and painted concrete floor surfaces to include ceramic, vinyl composition, and rubber tile and stair treads. Prior to mopped, floor areas shall be swept. A wet mop, mop bucket and wringer, and neutral detergent solution shall be used to remove all soil and removable
stains from the entire area. Wash and rinse water shall be changed frequently. Hard-to-reach places shall be thoroughly cleaned by hand. Floors shall not be flooded. Water shall not be left on floors long enough to cause damage to floor coverings and underlayment. All accessible areas shall be mopped. Floors shall be thoroughly dried after mopping. Workers shall be cautioned not to allow water to seep under baseboards. Surfaces shall be wiped dry immediately if any dripping occurs. Chairs, trash receptacles, entrance mats, etc. shall be moved as necessary to mop underneath.
Standard: Floor surfaces shall be clean and free of any soil and removable stains and have a uniform appearance with no streaks, swirl marks, detergent, or dirt residue. There shall be no splash marks or mop streaks on furniture, walls, baseboards, etc., or mop streaks remaining in the area.
